My daughter, Andria (aka Bookie), loves Hello Kitty. She has purses, dolls, blankets,
socks, etc. Almost anything that can display a Hello Kitty face is in my daughters
possession. I must admit, I am also a fan of Hello Kitty. When I was eight years
old, I can remember having a Hello Kitty wallet. My father gave me some money
to take on my class trip to see Charlotte's Web. I was so excited, but somehow
forgot to bring in my wallet from outside. I looked all over for it and it was finally
found outside on the roof of the garage. One of my siblings hid it from me. We do
such strange things when we are young, don't we? Anyhow, I have two daughters.
My oldest recently turned seventeen and I surprised her with a Hello Kitty cake.
It was my first time decorating a cake with fondant. I think I did a pretty great job.
It took hours to visualize a design in my head and make it come to life. Although
there are a few imperfections on the cake, she was so excited when she saw it and
couldn't believe how pretty it was. She said she knew it would be nice, but didn't
expect what I created. Check out the picture below and give me your thoughts.
I love designing character cakes and custom designs for birthdays or any celebration.
This cake is a yellow cake with lemon butter cream icing. Everything is edible.
